ZeroGeo Energy GmbH completes purchase of Geothermie Rupertiwinkel GmbH
Establishment of Green Energy Hub at Kirchanschöring, Bavaria.
Development of geothermal heating, cooling and power project and a Battery Energy Storage System.
ZeroGeo Energy GmbH (“ZeroGeo”) is pleased to announce the purchase of Geothermie Rupertiwinkel GmbH (“GTR”) and GTR’s plans for a Green Energy Hub in Kirchanschöring, Bavaria.
The Green Energy Hub will consist of a geothermal heating and cooling and/or power development plus a Battery Energy Storage System (“BESS”).
Background
GTR is the holder of the Ruperti II geothermal permit, covering an area of circa 91km² in south-east Bavaria (“Ruperti II”).
The Ruperti II permit benefits from:
(i) extensive 3D seismic surveys over the whole of the permit area;
(ii) measurements from two cased boreholes, drilled in 2021, to depths of circa 6,200m (MD); and
(iii) a fully functioning drilling pad with 3 cellars ready for drilling,
(the “Technical Data”).
The Technical Data will be used to advance the Green Energy Hub.
The Green Energy Hub
The Green Energy Hub will consist of:
(i) Geothermal Heating and Cooling plant: delivering heat and/or cooling to the municipality and industrial customers of Kirchanschöring (“Heating & Cooling Project”);
(ii) BESS project: circa 10MWe (“BESS Project”); and
(iii) Geothermal Electricity project: a 3-5MWe pilot project using Petrothermal technology (“Petrothermal Project”).
